 Hurricane Katrina!

I am going to tell you something about myself that you have probably have never heard. At the age of 6 I  watched the Wizard of Oz. So one night I had a nightmare that a tornado hit my house and my whole family died! Sad i know. So I went down to my Mom and told her about it and she told me that if a tornado is going to hit my house then I would have to live in Kansas! So having a computer I found out that I could go to weather.com and check my weather. So I went on there and checked my weather and then I would check the forecast for other family members too! So being able to read a little bit I went to get the newspaper on June 1st, 2005 and the headlines read HURRICANE SEASON IS HERE! So that scared me a little to and then I found out that I could watch the Tropical Updates, so I got sucked in on those and still am. I got to see if  hurricanes were coming my way and that year, nope! But I do remember watching Hurricane Katrina that year. I, for some reason, liked and still do like know what is going on in the weather! I remember though on August 23, 2005 watching Hurricane Katrina make land fall!

 I also remember Emily and Dennis! Well I made it through 2005. Now here comes 2006's hurricane season! We got fit by Tropical Storm Alberto. We almost got hit by Cat. 1 Hurricane Ernesto. I do not remember much that year because there was not very much activity! 2007 Hurricane season. We got hit by Hurricane Karen but, it was very weak when it hit. 2007 was slow with nothing had matched up to Katrina. 2008 had rolled around and it was here in a flash! This was a year to remember very well.  I remember Tropical storm Fay as surprisingly I got to play in the rain during that storm!!! I know about Dolly. Gustav was a nice size storm too!  Hanna was in 2008 also, as was Ike.  He was a powerful one along with Kyle and Omar!  2009 I do know too! My sister has been telling me that I should not watch the weather channel videos because they scare people. (I still watch them anyway)
The U.S. only had two hurricanes touch base but they were not strong at all. I remember Billy - that was a pretty strong storm. Ida was the only Hurricane that touched the U.S. and it was only a Cat. 2. 2010 had quite a few.  Danielle was a Cat. 4 and so was Earl. Gaston and Igor where nice sizes. Julie and Igor were Cat. 4 and Karl was a Cat. 3. Tomas was the last and was a Cat. 2! 2011 we have had 8 tropical storms and we have a Cat. 1 right now.  It could get stronger and I may get hit by it but I hope not bad. I do not think we will evacuate, but it is a little scarey and I am praying for Haiti since they got brushed by it.
